Getting around the island
Capri may be small, but it sure is mighty. There is so much to see, and lots of hidden, off the beaten track wonders that can only be accessed by foot. When I was there, I walked more steps in a day than I ever had in a week! So, be prepared to use your feet, along with these other methods of exploring the island.
Taxi
When you arrive in Capri and. depart the ferry, you will most likely be met with a gleaming white taxi, fitted with a coloured interior. The taxi's are great, but not the most cost effective way of exploring the whole island. I would suggest getting a taxi on arrival if you have luggage, and on departure to get back down to the port. For anything else, there are cheaper (albeit longer) ways of getting around.

Bus
Capri is small- and so are the roads, meaning the buses are too. However, if you're up for a fun ride up into the cliffs, at a price as little as 2 Euros, then the bus just might be for you. The buses take you between all of the main places in Capri, including Marina Grande, Marina Piccola, Capri Centre, Anacapri and Faro.
Funicular
The funicular is my favourite mode of transport on the island of Capri. It takes you between Marina Grande and the Piazza in less than 5 minutes, and only costs 2.5 Euros! It's quick, smooth, and extremely convenient for day trippers looking to explore the island above Marina Grande for a good price.

Tickets can be bought at the main ticket office at Marina Grande (on the right past the white building as you depart the port) and inside the funicular station at the Piazza. Both cash and card payment is accepted.
